Clyde E. Auwarter

Clyde E. Auwarter, age 71, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born January 20, 1953, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Gracie Childs.

Clyde worked in the oilfield all his life. He was a hard worker and was known for his strong work ethic. He moved to Ulysses 30 years ago. After working in the oilfield several more years, he then retired. Clyde was a movie buff, enjoyed building hot rods, hunting, and guns. He loved to ride motorcycles and feel the wind on his face. He will be remembered for his friendly and outgoing personality and having lived life to the fullest.

Clyde is survived by his son, Jackie Auwarter and wife, Linda of Ulysses; daughter, Kathy Jo Auwarter of McPherson; mother, Gracie Childs of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Julius Auwarter of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Phyllis Gene of San Antonio, Texas; seven grandchildren , four great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way.
