Clois Henry Brown

Clois Henry Brown, 74, of Johnson, Kansas, died Thursday, December 6, 2018, at his home in Johnson, Kansas. He was born February 22, 1944, in Nocona, Texas, the son of Orse Henry and Letha Belle (Gee) Brown.

 

Clois grew up in Texas and graduated high school in Springfield, Colorado. He has lived in Johnson for the last 41 years. He was a mechanic and had worked at Ramsey Farms, L & N Engine and Great Plains Gas Compression. He enjoyed fishing, tractor pulls and tinkering on anything, traveling with his family, as well as being an avid Broncos fan.

 

On July 14, 1963, he married Shirley Thompson in Springfield, Colorado; she survives.

 

Other survivors include two sons, Steve Brown of Johnson, Kansas, and David Brown of Portland, Oregon; two daughters, Vanessa Trujillo of Johnson, Kansa,s and Alicia Cox of Hutchinson, Kansas; one brother, Gus Brown, and one sister, Frances Grover both of Johnson, Kansas; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

 

Clois is preceded in death by his parents.

 

Funeral service will be Monday, December 10, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Fields Memorial Wesleyan Church in Johnson, Kansas, with Reverend Kurt Rovenstine officiating.  Burial will follow at Stanton County Cemetery, Johnson. Visitation will be Sunday, December 9, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.  Family requests memorials be given to the Alzheimer’s Association                      in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O.
