Clara “Mae” Ray

Clara “Mae” Ray, 88 passed on December 3, 2018 at Kansas Heart Center in Andover, KS. She was born on August 14, 1930 to Henry and Lucille Black in the Dague Community of Oklahoma. After her mother Lucille’s death she and sister Marie were adopted by Harry and Hattie Willis, siblings June and Junior would be raised by family members, Jean was raised by the Dye’s and Forrest Lee by the Davis’s.

 

Mae married John Elwyn Ray, August 15, 1948. They had five children, Linda, Danny, Rodney, Doug, and Kathy. Elwyn preceded her in death on December 11, 2009. Son Doug passed in 1995, daughter Linda in 2012 and son Rodney in 2017. She is survived by sisters Jean Younggren, Redfield, KS and Marie Towner, Rolla, KS and brother Forrest Davis of Missouri, son Danny and wife Rhonda of Hugoton, KS.; a daughter Kathy Purcell and husband Larry and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to United Methodist Church, Hugoton or Project Hope. Memorials may be mailed to Paul’s-Robson Funeral Home-PO Box 236-Hugoton, KS 67951.

 

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 10 AM at Hugoton United Methodist Church and burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery with Pastor Becky Davison presiding.

 

Friends may call Wednesday, December 5, 2018 from 10 AM to 8 PM at the funeral home
