Cheryl J. Powers

Cheryl J. Powers, age 60, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 22, 2019, at her Meade, Kansas residence.

She was born January 20, 1959, at Mullenville, Kansas, the daughter of James A. and Alberta Jean (Wagner) Lemmons. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Meade in 1964 and she began attending the Meade school system.

On June 21, 1980, she married Ron Powers at the United Methodist Church in Meade. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Meade. She was a homemaker, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a faithful follower of the Christian Broadcast Network. She enjoyed needlepoint, crosstiching, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Ron of Meade; three sons, Darrell Powers, Bradley Powers, and Aidan Powers, all of Meade; a brother, James “Critter” Lemmons of Wichita, Kansas; and five grandchildren, William, Vivian, Alex, Darren, and Phillip.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother Darrell Lemmons.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the United Methodist Church, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
