Charles Norman Powell, 75, of Guymon, Oklahoma was called home July 18, 2018 at BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo, Texas.
Charles was born August 27, 1942 in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of Jerry B. and Jeanett Montell Powell.
He lived and worked the better part of forty-five years in Guymon, Oklahoma. He was a hardworking, compassionate man of great integrity. In his spare time, he enjoyed knife making, fishing and spending time with family. He loved treasure hunting, rock collecting and sharing ice cream with his great grandchildren.
Charles was a sweet and simple man who always had a joke on hand. Those who knew him loved him and he will be greatly missed.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Jeanett Powell.
He is survived by a brother, William Powell and two sisters, Willa Weis and Phyllis Dietrich all of Hooker, Oklahoma; four children, Iva Davila, Ralph Powell and Ina Gonzales all of Amarillo, Texas and Vanessa Witt of Avondale, Colorado; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Oklahoma with Jim Weis officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Oklahoma 73945.
