Charles “Charlie” Dale Scott, 84, of Liberal, passed away on Friday May 24, 2019 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on March 3, 1935 to Glendon Dale and Georgie (Walters) on the family homestead near Turpin, Oklahoma.

On February 5, 1955 he married Dorothy Wyer at Clayton, NM.; she preceded him in death on March 30, 2018.

Charlie was a graduate of Eureka High School in Baker, Oklahoma; class of 1953. Charlie served in the US Army from 1955-1957 in Virginia. Upon moving back home he worked in the oilfield then went on to establish his own repair shop, Scott’s Machine. Charlie enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He spent his retirement rescuing animals and also loved spending time with his children & grandchildren.

He is survived by Three Sons – Dennis Dean Scott and wife Doreen of Amarillo, TX, Danny Dale Scott and wife Susan of Oklahoma City, OK, Douglas Dudley Scott and wife Janine of Perryton, TX; Daughter- Lisa Lynne Schaffer and husband Shannon of Omaha, NE; Four Grandchildren – McKenzi Long, Madison Scott, Hunter Winkler, and Halton Winkler; One Great Granddaughter- Madelyn Jarrett; One Sister- Carolyn Kay Buck and husband Kenneth of Andover, KS.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Viewing will be 9:00am to service time Thursday, May 30th.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 Thursday, May 30th at the Miller Mortuary Chapel with burial to follow at the Tyrone Cemetery.
