Charlene Garrison: UPDATE

Charlene Garrison, age 78, of Johnson, Kansas died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her home in rural Stanton County, Kansas. She was born June 3, 1935 in Larned, Kansas, the daughter of Emery and Jewell (Davidson) Windmill.
Char graduated from Johnson High School in 1953 and attended Garden City Community College. She married James R. (Jim) Garrison on May 31, 1953 in Johnson. Char worked at the Extension office in Johnson and retired after 23 years as a cook from USD 452. She was an avid Stanton County Trojan Booster, following her kids and grandkids in all their sport endeavors. Char played Bridge, was on a bowling league, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Johnson.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Garrison of their home; four sons, Gill Garrison and wife Desiree of Pensacola, Florida, Rusty Garrison and wife Mitzi of Otis, Colorado, Greg Garrison and wife Denise of Johnson, Kansas, Marty Garrison of Johnson, Kansas; two sisters, Janet Pearson of Ulysses, Kansas, Emeryl Morris and husband Ark of Johnson, Kansas; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Char is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Johnson, Kansas with Pastor Richard Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas. Friends may call Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
