Celia (Sally) Rodriguez, age 79, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Monday, October 21, 2019, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses. Kansas.  She was born May 27, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Apolonio and Angelita (Ochoa) Rodriguez.

Sally attended school in San Antonio until the family moved to Ulysses, Kansas. She married Benny V. Rodriguez on October 22, 1962, in Ulysses. She was a welder at Ansel Manufacturing. Sally was devoted to her family and you could find her supporting them at their many activities. She loved her grandkids and cooking for them. Sally enjoyed watching KU Basketball, fishing, going to the casino, and traveling to Colorado and San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

Sally is survived by her children, Rose Mary Blomander and husband Bill, Tony Rodriguez and wife Blanca, Romie Salas and husband Adam, Benny Rodriguez and wife Lana, LeRoy Rodriguez and wife Barbara all of Ulysses, and Mike Rodriguez and wife Gina of Dodge City; sister, Virginia Cavasos and husband Tony; brother, Apolonio Rodriguez and wife Salome; sister, Lupe Hernandez and husband Jose; 29 grandchildren, three honorary grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. 

Sally is preceded in death by her parents; husband Benny V. Rodriguez in 2004; son Tiofilo Rodriguez, grandson, Tony Rodriguez; brothers Roman Rodriguez, Vicente Rodriguez, Ignacio Rodriguez, and sisters, Herminia Garza, Elisando Urrea, and Victoria Alonzo.

Vigil and rosary service will be Friday, October 25, 2019, at 7:00 PM and funeral mass will be Saturday, October 26, 2019, at 10:00 AM both at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas, with Reverend Aneesh Parappanattu, MSFS officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, October 24, 2019, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Friday, October 25, 2019, from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
