Cecil “Kim” Heckman

Cecil “Kim” Heckman, age 60, of Ulysses, Kansas died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. He was born October 29, 1951 in Memphis , Texas , the son of Cecil George and Gertrude Naomi (Williams) Heckman.

Kim graduated high school in 1970 and then attended Dodge City Community College . He served in the United States Army for seven years. Kim married Joline Zirkle on July 4, 1996 in Ulysses, Kansas . Kim had a radiator shop in Ulysses with his father and brother Kenton, worked for Amoco in the computer department and worked for Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital IT department. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, cooking and watching movies. Kim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ulysses.

He is survived by sons, Erik Nerheim of Ulysses, Kansas, Matthew Ellis of Ulysses, Kansas, TC Heckman of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Adam Heckman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughters, Kristen Rowe and husband Laramie of Clinton, Utah, Jory Heckman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; mother, Gertrude Heckman of Walsenburg, Colorado; brother, Kenton Heckman of Stockton, Kansas; sister, Betty Jo Reynolds of South Fork, Arkansas; and seven grandchildren.

Kim was preceded in death by his father; and wife, Joline on October 23, 2011.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ulysses, Kansas with Bishop Rodney Snook officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Dexter D. Harbour American Legion Post #79. Friends may call Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave , Ulysses , KS 67880 .
