Casimira “Cassie” Andrade

Casimira “Cassie” Andrade, age 93, died April 4, 2021 at Brookdale Liberal Springs in Liberal, KS.

She was born on May 23, 1927 in El Chico, Jalisco, Mexico. She was the daughter of Michael G. and Lucadia R. Andrade.

Cassie married Lawrence G. Lara on December 28, 1984 in Dodge City, KS. Together they raised one son, Larry Lee Lara, and one daughter, Linda Lou Wettstein. She lived a full life as a mother and business owner in Liberal. Cassie and her husband owned The Golden Spread Furniture Store. She worked at the family owned business 54 Cafe & El Patio. She was additionally self-employed as a housekeeper for many years. She was an extremely hard worker and provided a beautiful life for her family. To know her was to love her. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Cassie is survived by:

One son, Larry and his wife Pam Lara of Andover, Kansas.

One daughter, Linda and her husband CJ Wettstein of Kismet, KS.

Six grandchildren, Monica Robertson and husband Josh, Lyndell Lara and wife McKenzi, Mylissa Dugan and husband Chris, Carl Wettstein and wife Jill, Carey Wettstein, and Casey Wettstein.

Twelve great-grandchildren, Klara and Layla Robertson, Finn, Fiona, and Foster Lara, Jozie, Jake, John, and Jeremiah Dugan, Hayden, Brynlee, and Kolbie Wettstein.

Sister-in-law, Linda Baugher Andrade.

Cassie was preceded in death by both her parents, Michael and Lucadia Andrade, and two brothers, Jessie D. Andrade and Henry L. Andrade.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM-5:00 PM on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal, KS.

Rosary to follow at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 1510 N. Calhoun Avenue, Liberal, KS.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padue Catholic Church 1510 N. Calhoun Avenue, Liberal, KS.

Interment will follow at the Restlawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations suggested to plant a tree in Cassie’s Memory or donate to Brookdale Liberal Springs for their trees in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home.
