Carolee Ann Lewis

Carolee Ann Lewis passed away surrounded by family on March 11th, 2024, at the age of 80. She found strength and solace in her faith, and her steadfast belief in God’s plan sustained her through life’s joys and trials.
She is survived by her son Brian Depuy, her daughter Rhonda Coats, her grandchildren, Tyler Kemper (Donna), Brandi Hodges (Isaac), Chris Kilgore (Kimberly), Joe Summers (Kassandra), Jade Bunnell (Brandon) and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her older sister, Marilyn Thompson, who served as a constant source of support and friendship throughout her life. In addition, she was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl & Ruby Lewis and her two brothers Everett and Wendell Lewis.
Carolee was born on April 19th, 1943, to Earl and Ruby Lewis in Liberal, Kansas. She graduated from Kismet High School in 1961. After she wed Jimmie Depuy in 1962, she became a licensed beautician where she operated her own business. Carolee was widowed in 1970 and she later married Darrell Hood in 1974. Sadly, she was widowed again in 1982 and later married and divorced James Campbell.  
She also held various roles throughout her career, including a department manager for Alco, a teller/processor for Colonial Savings and Loan, as well as an office receptionist and a hotel desk clerk, before eventually retiring.
In her later years, she lived in Kansas City near her daughter and family where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crafting and crocheting and family gatherings. 
While we grieve the loss of Carolee’s passing, we take comfort in knowing that she now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
The visitation will be Friday evening, March 22, 2024, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. The family will be present from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024, at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church (DOC), 940 N. Clay, Liberal Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to Arthritis Foundation or First Christian Church (DOC) of Liberal in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home.
