Carole J. Fischer, age 76, of Gentry, Arkansas, and formerly of Ulysses, Kansas, died Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Circle of Life / Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born November 12, 1943, in Bethany, Missouri, the daughter of James Otis and Mary Kay (Wilson) Steele.
Her parents grew up in New Hampton, Missouri, and Albany, Missouri. Carole graduated from Gilpin County High School. As a young lady, she worked at a soda fountain and also worked for her parent’s in their restaurant. Carole worked in Golden, Colorado, while raising her family; and enjoyed baking and cooking for them. She married Steve Fischer in 1977 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She then worked in the family business and managed her own crew. Carole was an antique collector and dealer, enjoyed gardening, horses and all animals. She will be remembered as being a loyal and lifelong friend.
She is survived by her husband, Steve; two sons, Craig Fischer and Perry J. Fischer; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Carole is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Pamela; granddaughter, Bo Megan Beohler; daughter, Jamie Fischer-Arborgast; and two brothers, Jeff Steele and Phil Steele.
Funeral service will be Thursday, November 12, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Grant Mennonite Church in rural Grant County with Minister Denton Koehn, Minister Stuart Jantzen, and Minister Jack Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, November 11, 2020, from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas.
