Carlos “Chuck” Segovia Pando

After an amazing and full life, Carlos “Chuck” Segovia Pando, age 86, died Sunday, June 18, 2023, at his residence in Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on July 13, 1936, to Juan Segovia and Josefa Pando in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Carlos was united in marriage to Lupe Duran on April 8, 1965, in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was the father of three sons, Carlos Adrian, Rolando, and John, and one daughter, Nora Elizabeth.
Carlos had a very happy and upbeat personality. He loved his family deeply and was very kind and caring to anyone he met, making many friends throughout his lifetime. Fishing and yardwork were his favorite hobbies. He also loved listening to and playing music on his guitar. Carlos was very dedicated to his work as a rig operator for Key Energy and Patrick Well Service and he loved baseball, playing as a young man in Mexico. Carlos was always ready to share stories about his life. He will long be remembered as a very caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Lupe Duran, sons, Carlos Adrian Segovia (Zan) of Tampa Florida, Rolando Segovia (Teresa) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and John Segovia (Sadie) of Overland Park, Kansas, daughter, Nora Elizabeth Segovia (Jorge Mendez) of Liberal, Kansas, 14 grandchildren, Jessica A. Segovia, Stephanie Green, Aaron Segovia, Briana Segovia, Vincent Segovia, Alex Segovia, Rolando Segovia Jr., Jaime U. Minjarez, Eric Minjarez, Tania L. Minjarez, Dylan Segovia, Jace Segovia, Clayton Segovia, and Dawson Segovia, 8 great grandchildren, Dadrian Jones, Anthony Hopson, Aiden Hopson, Adriana Segovia, Carlos Guzman, Taraji Hardy, Helena Minjarez, and Davian C. Minjarez
He is preceded in death by both parents, Juan Segovia and Josefa Pando, brothers, Manuel Segovia, Fidencio Segovia, and Huberto Segovia and sisters, Enedina Segovia, and Maria Segovia, and one grandchild, Miles Segovia.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM, on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
