Calvin was born on July 9, 1927, in Forgan, Oklahoma, to George W. and Edna (Montgomery) Crosby.
Calvin’s life journey began in Forgan, Oklahoma, where he completed his education at the 9th grade. He was a dedicated truck driver for Yellow Freight Trucking and worked as a deputy for Howard Smith and others, a job that brought him joy and fulfillment throughout his career.
Calvin cherished his relationships deeply and was blessed with two wonderful spouses throughout his life – Dona L. Brown and was united in marriage to Sharon Sawyers on February 2, 1975, until her death on February 2, 2018. Together, they built a lifetime of memories and experiences.
Calvin’s devotion to family extended to his children as well. He was a loving father to four sons, and three daughters. In addition to the love he held for his family, Calvin had an adventurous spirit that led him to explore new places and create long-lasting memories. He enjoyed the open road, traveling to new destinations, and experiencing the many wonders our world has to offer. His time spent as a truck driver allowed him to meet people from all walks of life and hear their stories, which he cherished dearly. His kindness, love, and dedication will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. May his memories bring comfort to his family and friends during this difficult time.
He is survived by his sons, Calvin George Crosby of Liberal, Kansas, Allen Dewayne Crosby and his wife Vicky of Liberal, Kansas, Timithy Crosby Sr. of Arnold, Missouri and Eric Don Crosby with his wife Tracy of Belle Center, Ohio, daughters, Donna J.
