C.E “Bud” Peery

C. E. “Bud” Peery 89, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2011 at St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City, KS .

He was born December 7, 1921 at Skedee, OK the son of Joe and Zola (Billeau) Peery.

He had been a resident of Liberal, KS since 1957.

He worked for Armco Steel Corporation for 32 years and was a district manager.

Bud was an avid golfer, bowler and founding member of the Liberal Gun Club. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Liberal, KS, the Liberal Gun Club and a 32nd. degree Mason in the Fargo Masonic Lodge #300 and the Isis Temple in Salina, KS .

He was a WWII veteran serving four years in the U.S. Army, as a paratrooper in the Pacific Campaign , from 1942-1946.

On March 27, 1946, he married Vera Helen Gatz in Wichita, KS . She survives.

1 Son Mike Peery and wife Cynthia Sugarland, TX

1 Daughter Annette Fitzgerald and husband Mike Liberal, KS

4 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 Brother Don Peery.

Graveside Service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, June 13th, at Liberal Cemetery, Liberal, KS, with Pastor Stephen Saville presiding. Military Honors will be presented by the Kansas National Guard Honor Guard .

There is no public visitation and the casket will remain closed. The guest register book may be signed from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm Monday at Brenneman Funeral Home .

In lieu of flowers and plants, the family request memorial contributions sent to the Liberal Gun Club or Disabled American Veterans in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901 .
