Bob Jacobs, 86, of Hooker, Oklahoma passed away April 10, 2017 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

Bobby Dean Jacobs was born August 21, 1930, south of Hooker, Oklahoma in a Soddy. He was the son of Chester Henry and Helen Holzrichter Jacobs. He attended school in Adams and graduated from Hooker High School with the Class of 1950.

He was united in marriage to Lola Jean Witt on March 30, 1951 on the farm north of Hooker.

Bob worked for Tri-County Electric and at the Witt Dairy. He also worked for Matt’s Furniture, Landreth Meat Locker and Hooker Equity during the time that the new elevator was built. In 1961, the family moved to Calhoun, Missouri to farm 80 acres which they did until 1964 when they moved back to Hooker.

Bob worked as a herdsman for the Teel Dairy and later became a meat cutter for Flynt Grocery for seven years. They moved to the country where they raised hogs. During that time, Bob Glidewell asked Bob to work for him at the Hooker Lumber Company which he did for eleven years until it closed. He then worked for the city of Hooker at the landfill until he was 80 and he retired for the last time.

He as a member of the United Methodist Church in Hooker and enjoyed woodworking, making many items for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Cary, grandson, Casey Dean Maskill, two sons in law, Jeff Yowell and Bryan Mathis.

Survivors include his wife, Lola of the home; son, Gary of Granite City, Illinois; four daughters, Elaine and Mark Hill of Hooker, Yvonne Mathis of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Mira and Mike Maskill of Kansas City, Missouri, Barbara Yowell of Hugoton, Kansas; one sister, Bonnie and Ray Webb of Wright, Wyoming; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 at United Methodist Church in Hooker with Rev. Craig Denslow officiating. Interment will be in the Hooker Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, OK.
