Billie M. Carter: UPDATE

Billie M. Carter, age 84, of Ulysses, Kansas died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at her home in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born June 30, 1927 in Ulysses, Kansas the daughter of William and Beatrice (Wolfe) Elliott.

Billie married Robert M. (Bob) Carter on May 23, 1947 in Ulysses, Kansas. She was a homemaker who enjoyed music; and played the piano, organ, and accordion by ear. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting, and sewing for her family. She attended the Patterson Avenue Church God in Ulysses.

She is survived by her children, Robert Bruce Carter and wife Laura A. of Ulysses, Kansas, Gayla June Lund and husband Jim of Ulysses, Kansas, Frances Ann Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lonnie Bryan Carter and wife Joyce of Great Bend, Kansas, Stacy Lynne Taylor of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; brother, Gail Elliott of Sequim, Washington; sisters, Karen Harbour of Ulysses, Kansas, Vickie Smith of Great Bend, Kansas; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob on October 31, 2001; siblings, Robert Elliott, Betta Neiderer, Gerald Elliott, Lou Elliott; and grandson, Robert P. (Robbie) Carter.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Patterson Avenue Church of God in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Earl Heath Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, April 6, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
