Bill Craig, age 81, died early Thursday morning, December 18, 2014, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichtia, Kansas.
He was born July 31, 1933, at Lenora, Kansas, the son of Olen Dale and Jessie (Anglan) Craig. As a young boy he attended school in Lenora, Glad, and Kerwin, Kansas. In 1953, he joined the Untied States Navy serving aboard the U.S.S. Hornet until his discharge in 1957. After his discharge, he began his career in the oilfield as a driller and tool pusher for over fifty years, having worked for Abercrombie Drilling, Sterling Drilling, and H2 Drilling.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding the squirrels, and spending time with his family and friends.
In 1958, he married Nada Holbrook in Phillipsburg, Kansas. She survives.

Fifteen grandchildren Eleven great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at the United Methodist Church, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
The family would welcome memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
