Beverly L. Glasscock, age 63, of Johnson, Kansas, died Friday, April 17, 2020, at the Stanton County Hospital in Johnson, Kansas. She was born December 20, 1956, in Meade, Kansas, the daughter of Forest and Patty Ann (Brown) Loyd.
Beverly grew up in Johnson and graduated from Stanton County High School. She continued her education at Garden City Community College. While Beverly lived in Garden City, she worked at Schwieterman, Inc. She then moved to Liberal where she worked at Wal-Mart for 11 years. Beverly married Richard R. Glasscock on April 25, 1998, in her Mother’s backyard in Manter. Beverly also worked at Collingwood Grain, Stanton County Hardware/True Value, and was recently the secretary for the First United Methodist Church in Johnson. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Manter United Methodist Church.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Richard of their home; brother, Martin Loyd of Tyler, Texas; sister, Kim Whitlow and husband William of Amarillo, Texas; sister-in-law, Diana Daniels and husband Doug of Johnson; nieces, Kindra Ashe and husband Warren of Anchorage, Alaska, Dacia Huggard and husband Jeff of Garden City, and Dandi Amerin and husband Marcus of Hugoton.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents.
A private family funeral service will be Thursday, April 23, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Manter United Methodist Church in Manter, Kansas, with Pastor Mary Courtney officiating. Manter United Methodist Church and Johnson First United Methodist Church will offer live streaming on their facebook page. Interment will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson, Kansas.
