Betty Rummans

Betty Rummans, 82, of Liberal, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Kansas Heart Center in Wichita, KS.
She was born on August 6, 1940 to Rebecca Hart and FL “Little Buddy” Ricks at Pickens, AR.
Betty moved to Liberal at a young age. She finished school and went on to help take care of the elderly. Later Betty worked as a CNA at Wheatridge for 22 years; retiring in 2018. She loved working in her yard, fishing, cookouts and taking care of her family and grandchildren. Family was everything.
Betty is survived by her loving husband David Shelton, six children: Angela Gibbs, Cynthia Ricks, Greg and Mary Ricks, Mary and Marcus Wright, Kenneth Miller, Brandon Shelton and a whole host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Rummans Jr., mother, Rebecca Hart, father, FL Ricks, two grandsons, Larry Ricks and Kolby Hopkins.
There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the First Southern Baptist Church.
The family suggests memorials are suggested to the St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of Miller Mortuary PO Box 826 Liberal, KS 67905-0826.
