Betty Lou Rindels 78, died Sunday June 12, 2011 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center St Francis in Wichita, KS

She was born Aug. 28, 1932 at Poweshick County, Iowa the daughter of William and Mina Bernice (Newton) Wittenburg.

She graduated from Grundy Center High School, Gundy Center, Iowa in 1950. She has been a longtime resident of Hugoton, KS.

She was a homemaker and worked in various fields all of her life and mainly as co-owner with her husband in the heating and air conditioning business. She was active until her death in volunteering for Project Hope .

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Hugoton, KS, She served on the Hugoton Rec. Board for many years. She also served as a Hugoton City Commission member from 1989 to 1991.

On Feb. 22, 1952 she married Irvin “Irv” Rindels in Grundy Center, Iowa . He died March 1, 2010.

She is survived by

1 Son Ron Rindels and wife Susan Hugoton, KS

1 Daughter Casey Knox and finance Bob Mangels Ulysses, KS .

1 Brother Wally Wittenburg Wyndmere, ND

1 Sister Clarice Mullins Grinnell, Iowa

6 Grandchildren Tyler Rindels, Tanner Rindels and wife Sheena, Taylor Rindels,Tessa Rindels, Jami Knox and Eric Knox.
2 Great grandchildren Chloe Rindels and Riddick Rindels.

Preceded in death by her parents, step mother Bertha Rindels, 1 son Michael and a brother Bob Wittenburg.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 am Friday June 24, 2011 at the First Christian Church in Hugoton, KS with Pastor Dan Biernacki presiding. Inurnment will follow at Hugoton Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers and plants memorial contributions may be sent to Project Hope or Pheasant Heaven Charities in care of Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901 .
