Betty Lou (Heger) Lee

Betty Lou (Heger) Lee, 90, died Monday, August 17, 2020 at the Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton, Kansas. She was born May 1, 1930 in Liberal, Kansas, the daughter of Otto Heger and Versia Mills Heger.

In 1948, Betty graduated from Hugoton High School. She worked at the Citizens State Bank as the Vice President Loan Officer for forty – four years.

She was the beloved mother of two daughters, Tammie Elaine (Gerald) Kurth, and Kelly Diane (Bill) Baughn.

Betty was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Brandee Kurth, Jerron Kurth, Kendra Baughn, Hailee Baughn; and six great – grandchildren, Amaree Mohamed, Maliak Mohamed, Zarian Mohamed, Nazriah Mohamed, Jeshuel Mohamed, and Samara Mohamed.

She is survived by her brother, Marlin Heger; and the rest of her family.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Otto Heger and Versia Mills Heger; daughter, Tammie Elaine Kurth; granddaughter, Brandee Kurth; and brother, Gary Heger.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 19, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, in Liberal, Kansas. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 10:00 AM, at the Bethel Friends Church, 1040 S. Jefferson Street, in Hugoton, Kansas. A burial will follow the services at the Hugoton Cemetery, with Pastor Terry Miller presiding.
