Betty L. Weber, age 89, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 19, 2019, at the Minneola Long Term Care Unit, Minneola, Kansas.
She was born February 23, 1929, at Rolla, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Dora (Crews) and stepmother Ruth (Britenbach) Hogue. As a young girl she attended school in Rolla, graduating from Rolla High School. She later attended Kansas Wesleyan University, receiving her degree in nursing. After her graduation, she worked for eight years as a nurse.
On July 13, 1957, she married Neal E. Weber at Rolla, Kansas. After their marriage the couple made their home at rural Fowler, Kansas.
She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ of Minneola, Kansas. She enjoyed reading, working in the outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Jena Loffert and husband Brennan of Richmond Hill, Georgia; a great-granddaughter, Allie Diana Loffert of Richmond Hill, Georgia; and a brother Don Hogue and wife Dorotha of Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Neal on December 13, 2012; a daughter, Diana Marie Stinchcomb on February 26, 2001; a son-in-law, Robert Allen Stinchcomb on April 14, 2018; mother, Dora Hogue; and a brother Lester Hogue on August 28, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2019, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery.
The family would welcome memorials to the Minneola Long Term Care Unit in care of the funeral home.
