Beatrice “Betty” Rodriguez

Beatrice (Betty) Rodriguez, age 56, passed away early Saturday morning, November 16, 2019, at the Meade District Hospital, Mede, Kansas.

She was born December 19, 1962, at Lubbock, Texas, the daughter of Fabian and Irma (Benavides) Rodriguez. As a young girl she attended school in Lubbock.

On August 18, 1978, she married Eramso Vergara at Lubbock. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Lubbock for many years before moving to Meade in 2004. She was a homemaker.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, floral arranging, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband Erasmo of Meade; a son Eramso Vergara of Lubbock; two daughters, Irma Alaniz of Meade, and Juanita Rodriguez of Arlington, Texas; her parents, Fabian and Irma Rodriguez of Lubbock; three brothers, Pancho Reyna of Galveston, Texas, Fabian Rodriguez and Joe Manual Rodriguez both of Lubbok; three sisters, Yolanda of Illinois, Gloria DeLeon and Letty Rodriguez both of Lubbock; and nine grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Rodriguez.

Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Meade.

The family would welcome memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
