Barbara M. (Barb) Feldman

Barbara M. (Barb) Feldman, age 89, passed away early Monday morning, May 14, 2018, at her Meade residence.
 
She was born April 23, 1929, at Laverne, Oklahoma, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Kuhlman) Wurdeman. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Meade at the age of two.  She attended the Meade school system, graduating from Meade High School in 1947.
 
On June 20, 1948, she married Glenn E. Feldman at Perryton, Texas.  After their marriage, the couple made their home in Meade.  A lifetime resident, she worked for the Meade County Clerk’s Office for over thirty years and served as the Meade County Clerk for eight years.
 
She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, serving as the church treasurer since 1992, was a former LYF sponsor, was a former member of the LWML, and served as secretary for the Graceland Cemetery District Board for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, in particular Pinochle, visiting with family and friends, as she never met a stranger, and attending her grandchildren’s events.
 
She is survived by two daughters, Karen Slate of Meade and Janet Hale of Plains, Kansas; four grandchildren, Mardi, Chandra, Travis, and Jackie; eight great-grandchildren, A.J., Zachary, Brayden, Harley, Skye, Gaege, Silas, and Hudson; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband; a son, Roger Feldman; and two brothers, Carl Wurdeman and Eldon Wurdeman.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church, Meade. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
 
The family would welcome memorials to St. John Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
