Barbara “Bobbie” Marcellus, 80, of Liberal, passed away on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at the Twin Oaks Manor Care Home in Booker, TX.
She was born on January 16, 1940 to Alva and Maxine (Mayberry) Heidlebaugh at Cripple Creek, CO.
On July 19, 1957 she married Charles Marcellus at Clayton, NM; he survives.
Bobbie was a 1958 graduate of Liberal High School. She enjoyed riding horses, hunting, and traveling with her husband; family was always her top priority. She was a former member of Liberal Elks Lodge, Dallas Safari Club, the Red Hats Society, and was a Cub Scout Den Mother when her children were growing up. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Liberal.
Bobbie is survived by her husband Charles of Liberal, KS. Five children: Mark Marcellus and wife Sandy of Turpin, OK; Melody Head and husband Gary of Wichita, KS; Mike Marcellus and wife Shawna of Liberal, KS; Matthew Marcellus and wife Christina of Blair, NE; Mitch Marcellus and wife Kathryn of Liberal, KS, and her sister, Judy Hoskinson of South Wichita, KS; 11 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and two Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2020, 1:00 pm at the First Christian Church, with Pastor Rex Petty, officiating. The Church asks that masks be worn by all in attendance and social distancing being observed. The service will be live streamed on Facebook through the Miller Mortuary FaceBook page.
Burial will follow, in the Liberal City Cemetery.
