On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, Barbara Ann Pierce, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 62.
Barbara was born on Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico to Margaret Catherine Holmes and Jesse Wilson Collins. She graduated from high school in Liberal, Kansas then married James (Jim) R. Pierce in 1977. They raised three children, James, Katie, and Dustin. She retired from Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.
Barbara had the biggest heart and if you knew her you loved her and you were family to her. She loved her family and friends and would give them anything she could to make their lives better. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, knitting, and crocheting. She loved riding on the back of Jim’s motorcycle and relaxing together under the Texas sunsets. She never hesitated to show she cared while keeping you grounded.
Barbara is proceeded in death by her father, Jesse, and her mother, Margaret, father-in-law, Ivan Leo Pierce, and mother-in-law, Martha Josephine Pierce. She was also proceeded in death by her brother, Howard Jesse Collins, brothers-in-law, Phil Lee Pierce and Roy Crouch, and her son, James Benjamen Pierce.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughter, Katie Marie Pierce, her son, Dustin Miles Watson Pierce, her grandson, Hayden Connor Faison, and her granddaughters, Scarlett Freya Boykins and Lilith Athena Boykins. She is survived by her brothers, Earl Michael Collins and his wife, Marla; Roy Woodrow Collins; and her brother-in-law Mark Lynn Pierce and his wife, DeAnn. She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Jean Crouch; Marilyn Joan Swanson and her husband Roger; and Donna Morgan Veprek and her husband Matthew; and her sister-in-law, Janice Baber Pierce.
The Service for Barbara will be held Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 1:30 pm. The location is at Southside Funeral Home on 6301 S. Flores, San Antonio, TX 78214. The Interment will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 1:00 pm at the Texhoma Cemetery located on County Road B, Texhoma, TX 73949. Both the service and the interment will be Officiated by Deacon Coy Pierce.
