Barbara Ann Manning, 66, of Liberal, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on September 16, 1955 to Glenn A. Stephens and Verna (Wheat) Murray at Medicine Lodge, KS.

On March 16, 1976 she married Jimmie D. Manning at Tyrone, OK: he preceded her in death on December 13, 2009.

Barbara was a graduate of Pratt Highs School in Pratt, KS. She worked with USD480 of Liberal, KS for 32 years. During her years with USD480 she held many positions including Secretary & Cheer Coach for 10 years at South Middle School. She was Paraprofessional at Cottonwood Elementary working with special needs children; she had been learning Sign Language to help assist the children she worked with. Barbara looked forward to receiving Coach Handbags from her kids. She enjoyed playing bingo, shopping with her best friend Mona Schwindt, was an avid reader. She loved children and enjoyed working with them. She was an important part of all of her Nieces & Nephews lives. Barbara was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Church in Liberal.

Barbara is survived by her Three Sons, Mikel Manning of Liberal, KS, Jimmie Manning and husband Adam Safdi of Reno, NV, Shawn Manning and wife Stacey of Independence, MO; Daughter, Kristen Smith and husband Sean of Hooker, OK; Two Stepdaughters, Jenny Turner and husband Tony of Amarillo, TX, Barbara De La Cruz and husband Richard of Amarillo, TX; Seven Grandchildren, Cameron, Caden, Jesse, Makynze, Rosilyn, Jace, and Sean Michael; Six Step-grandchildren, Christopher, Cynthia, Derek, Tiffany, Stephanie, and Anthony; Three Brothers, Buddy Stephens and wife Theresa of Pratt, KS, Rick Stephens and Michelle of Pratt, KS, Donnie Murray and Chrystal of Turpin, OK; Three Sisters, Lora Murray-Chapa and husband Fernando of Kingman, KS, Connie Jennings and husband Lee of Locust Grove, OK, Debbie Shields and husband Everette of Stroud, OK; Several Nieces & Nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Randy Stephens and Michael Ward; niece, Jacqui Wheat.

Viewing will be 9:00 am – 11:30 am Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Faith Tabernacle Church with Pastor Rex Petty, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Liberal City Cemetery.
