AV Barnes

AV Barnes, 56, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home in Turpin, Oklahoma.

He was born April 25, 1958 at Beaver, OK, the son of Carl and Karen (Platz) Barnes.

AV was a class of 1976 graduate of Turpin High School and received his Bachelors degree is Psychology from OSU. At the time of his passing he was the Greenhouse Manager at SCCC. Previous to working at SCCC he had sold insurance at Lambert Insurance Agency, worked at Mitchell Nursery and Thomas Landscaping. AV loved horticulture and also enjoyed reading, music, and stand up comedy. He was a member of the Turpin Methodist Church.

He is survived by his father Carl L,; brother, Carl V.Barnes and wife Becky of Grove, OK; two nephews, Craig Barnes, Sean Barnes; two great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother Karen.

Memorial Service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Miller Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Rex Petty officiating.

The family suggests memorials to Turpin Methodist Church in care of Miller Mortuary.

There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place.
