Arthur Courtiz (Corky) Jennings

Arthur Courtiz (Corky) Jennings, age 67, of Ulysses, Kansas, was born April 18, 1949, and made his way to heaven February 1, 2017. He was born in Coleman, Oklahoma, the son of Arthur H. and Edna (Mays) Jennings.

Corky married Wilma L. Whitehead on August 12, 1969, in Garden City, Kansas. They moved to Ulysses 36 years ago. He was a millwright superintendent for 35 years for Ernest-Spencer, Topeka, Kansas. He then worked as a meter technician at S&S Meter Shop, retiring last April. Corky enjoyed leather and wood working, camping, fishing, and was a computer technician. He was a member of the Shelton Memorial Christian Church and the Oklahoma Choctaw Tribe.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jennings of their home; four children, Barbara Rodriguez and husband Leroy, Patricia Walters and husband Brad, Angie Heinrichs and husband Adam all of Ulysses, Kansas, and Richard Jennings of Soper, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte (Charlie) Boley; brothers, Lonny Jennings and wife Racheal, Rick Jennings and wife Joan, and Donald Ridell and wife Carrie all of Caney, Oklahoma. 

Corky is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Joan Jennings-Settlemire; two brothers, Roy and Leon Jennings; sister, Mary Jo Turner; and his best-friend, Toby.

Memorial service will be Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Shelton Memorial Christian Church in Ulysses with Reverend Kelly Gindlesberger officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the Ulysses Ministerial Alliance in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave, Ulysses, KS 67880.
