Antonia Gonzalez

Antonia Gonzalez, age 66, passed away Monday morning, July 18, 2022, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.

She was born June 15, 1956, at Knox City, Texas, the daughter of Jesse H. and Antonia (Gonzales) Saucedo. As a young girl, she attended school both in Knox City and Meade, when the family moved to Kansas.

After her schooling she met Jose Gonzalez and on April 4, 1975, the couple were married. After their marriage, they made their home(s) in Liberal, Guymon, San Antonio, Comfort, Boise City then back to Liberal. While in San Antonio, she studied music at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She worked in various vocations, including mission work for her church, choir director, and Sunday school teacher. After several years of marriage, the couple later divorced and she became a caregiver to many in Liberal and surrounding areas.

She was a member of the Betel Baptist Church and the Baptist Women’s Missionary Union. She enjoyed painting, sewing, crafts, singing, and spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Jose Gonzalez, Jr. and wife Cendy of El Paso, Texas, and Jason Gonzalez and wife Elizabeth of Liberal, Kansas; a daughter, Jazmin Macias and husband Ricardo of Liberal, Kansas; two brothers, Jesse Saucedo, Jr. of Edwardsville, Kansas, and Nefro Saucedo of Plains, Kansas; a sister, Faye Wells of Dodge City, Kansas; and her grandchildren, Karley, Xytlali, Abner, Mylee, Jackson, Jasper, Pako and Kuki…

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ramona Almeida.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, with the family receiving friends at 11:00 a.m. for a celebration of Antonia’s life at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary. Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
