Annie Lois Carr

Annie Lois Carr made her transition from earth on July 13, 2022 with her son Casey and his wife, Debra
by her side. She was born May 27, 1942 to Irene Herron and Willie D. Alston, in Ethel, Mississippi.
Annie loved God and was a member of Bible Way Church of God in Christ. She loved spending time with
her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed spending time with friends,
dancing, singing, and cooking.
She grew up as a child in Ethel, Mississippi. As a young adult she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she
lived for the next 20 years. During her time in Chicago she worked as a Nanny. In 1982 she moved to
Liberal, Kansas to be closer to her family. While in Liberal she worked for the Rosel family and then
Walmart. She retired from Walmart in 2017.
She is preceded in death by her mother Irene Herron, father Willie Alston, brother Steven Alston, sister
Sandra Faye Alston, and grandson Larry Mikah Ricks.
She leaves two children to cherish her memory: Sons Dennis Alston and wife Deanna Herron of
Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Casey Carr and wife Debra (Tiny) of Garden City, KS. Five stepdaughters,
Mary Alston of Mississippi, Pamela Williams of Arizona, Gloria Carter of Kansas, Rita Livingston of
California, and Stephanie Vann of Texas. Two brothers, Willie Charles and Tommie Austin of Mississippi;
Four sisters, Rubie Catrell of Michigan, Lucille Liggins of Nebraska, Helen Allen of Oklahoma, Sharron
(Niecey) Alston of Mississippi. Five grandchildren, Delarne Brown of Wisconsin, Denelle Brown of
Wisconsin, Kadiedra Carr of Georgia, Casey Carr of Kansas, and Joshua Carr of Kansas. Eight great-
grandchildren, Jocelynn Brown of Wisconsin, Kamdyn Carr, Ryder Carr, Kashton Carr, Presley Carr, Skyla
Ricks, Crystal Ricks, and Taeviana Ricks all of Kansas. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and
nephews, and many friends, all of whom got to experience life with her.
Viewing will be held Monday,July 25, 2022, 1:00 – 7:00 pm at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, 2:00 pm at Bibleway Church of God In Christ. Burial will follow at the Liberal City Cemetery.
