Angel Martinez Herrera age 73 passed away in his home of Hugoton KS on December 14, 2024. He was born January 4, 1951, in Garcia, Apaseo, Guanajuato to Marcos and Francisca (Herrera) Martinez.

Angel married Maria Concepcion Cruz in October of 1970 in Jocoqui, Guanajuato. Angel was a hardworking man migrating in to the United States in the late 1970’s where he worked as a cowboy then going to farmhand work. He lived in Hugoton for the majority of his life working for Collingwood Grain and other grain companies for over 30 years. Angel was an avid baseball player and loved spending time with his family. His greatest passion was serving the Lord. Angel Pastored Templo Betania in Ulysses, KS for over 22 years.

Angel Martinez is survived by his wife Concepcion Martinez of Hugoton, Kansas, brother Emeregildo Martinez of Guanajuato, Mexico, and children Luz Tinoco of Pueblo, Colorado, Lupe Martinez of Hugoton, Kansas, Jose Juan Martinez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marcos Martinez of Ulysses, Kansas, and Roberto Martinez of Hugoton, Kansas. 14 grandchildre,n Isaac Tinoco, Israel Tinoco, Misael Tinoco, Nataly Black, Genesis Martinez, Miguel Martinez, Emma Martinez, Marcos Martinez, Galilea Martinez, Camila Martinez, Lilah Martinez, Neveah Martinez, Esperanza Martinez and five great-grandchildren, Alayna Black, Alec Black, Layla Tinoco, Eliyana Tinoco, Niko Tinoco.

Angel is preceded in death by his parents Marcos and Francisca Herrera Martinez and five siblings Juan Martinez, Domingo Martinez, Claudio Martinez, Maria Diega Martinez Angel and Consepcion Martinez Vargas.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Hugoton Assembly of God Church with Pastor Marcos Martinez officiating. Interment will follow at the Hugoton Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM and a memory service from 7:00 PM until 7:45 PM at Garnand Funeral Home 920 E. 11th St., Hugoton.
