Alvina Jeanne Wiens

Alvina Jeanne Wiens, departed this earthly life on January 16, 2017at Hutchinson, Kansas, and entered her heavenly home to be with her Savior whom she loved and served.

 
She was born January 18, 1933-, at Meade, Kansas, the daughter of Peter J. and Agnes Classen Isaac.
At an early age, Alvina accepted Christ as her Savior. She was baptized upon the profession of her faith and
became a member of the Meade EMB Church in 1946. Throughout her lifetime, she was actively involved in the church.
 
Alvina attended Emporia State University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1960 and her
Master Science Degree in 1969.
 
Alvina was an elementary classroom teacher in the Meade Public Schools from 1961-1990. She made a
significant impact and difference in the future of students for 30 years.
 
On March 31m 1953, Alvina married Waldo Wiens at Meade, Kansas.
 
Survivors include: Her husband Waldo, two sons, Kent D. Wiens, Hutchinson, Dr. Lynn A. Wiens and wife, Ann,Tulsa, Oklahoma, One sister, Edna Martin, Hutchinson, two brothers, Melvin Isaac, Meade, Dale Isaac, Turlock, California, and five grandchildren: Peter, Josiah, Abigail, Evangelina, and Amber Joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Rosalene Klaassen, and one brother Eldo Isaac.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at the Countryside Bible Church, rural Meade.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.  Interment will follow in the Countryside Bible Church Cemetery, rural Meade.
 
Memorials may be given to Hutchinson First Church of the Nazarene Worship and Arts Ministry and Great
Plains Christian Radio, in care of the funeral home.
