Alvin Ray Beavers, 91, of Liberal, passed away on Friday December 27, 2019.
He was born on October 18, 1928 to Leva and Bessie (Burrows) Beavers at Hugoton, KS.
On May 7, 1948 he married Winifred Taylor at Liberal, KS; she preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Hugoton High School; class of 1948. Alvin briefly attended Garden City Community College on a Football Scholarship; he then went on to work in the oilfield for 19 years. Alvin later went to work as a Fire Fighter with the Liberal Fire Dept. and assisted with his son’s business, Beaver’s Construction; retiring in 1993. He enjoyed watching Football, Westerns and frequenting the McDonald’s Coffee Group. He was a member of the South Church of God.
Alvin is survived by Son, Eddie Beavers of Liberal, KS; Sister, Alberta Willsey of Liberal, KS; Five Grandchildren, April Southard of Liberal, KS, Melissa Dearing of Las Vegas, NV, Bobby Campbell of Sublette, KS, Josh Clapp of Grapeland, TX and Christopher Clapp of Palestine, TX; Several Great Grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and Daughter, Patricia Norene Krull, Four Brothers, Five Sisters and One Grandson.
Funeral Services will be 12:00 pm Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the South Church of God, Liberal, KS, with Pastor Presephoni Fuller, officiating. Viewing will be at 11:00 am to service time at the church.
Burial will take place in the Liberal City Cemetery.
