Graveside service for Alton Lee Willimon will be at 10:00 am Thursday, August 3, 2017 in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder.
Burial with military honors will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.
Alton Lee Willimon, 68, Plains, KS went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was born June 9, 1949 in Tipton, OK to Jean Ray and Imogene Beatrice (DeFoor) Willimon. Alton was a combat wounded veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. Alton, sometimes known to family as “Salty Alty” loved to fish and work on vehicles. He was baptized at Otter Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Alton Lee Willimon, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Denver, CO, Bryan Cody Willimon of Bowie, TX, 5 brothers, Jimmy Ray Willimon and wife Lana of Stinnett, TX, Wesley M. Willimon and wife Janet of Liberal, KS, Allan E. Willimon and wife Sara of Kismet, KS, Marshall Otis Willimon and wife Gloria of Liberal, KS, Ted D. Willimon and wife Luanne of Skiatook, OK, a sister Kathy (Willimon) Tankersley and husband Dave of Larned, KS, 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jean Ray and Imogene Willimon and one brother, Charlie Wayne Willimon.
