Alma Lee Lampp, age 83, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas. She was born February 1, 1937, in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of John Henry and Lillian Estella (Lee) Langehennig.
Alma Lee grew up on a farm and then the family moved to Seagraves, Texas. She married Kenneth Lampp on December 26, 1955, in Seagraves, Texas. Alma Lee and Kenneth moved to Ulysses in 1976, and established the Church of God in 1977 with her husband. They pastored the Rose Lane Church of God from 1982 – 1993 and then established Mercy, Grace and Truth Ministries in 1993. Alma Lee has ministered to people since the late 1960’s; including being the Pastor at Mercy, Grace and Truth Ministries after Kenneth passed away in 2005. She enjoyed teaching, being a youth leader, ministering, and was a spiritual mother to many people. Alma Lee held women’s retreats for many years, and was known for being an avid prayer warrior. Alma Lee also enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Alma Lee is survived by two daughters, Cindy Davis and husband Larry, and Kandy Barber all of Ulysses; brothers, Lonny Langehennig of Lubbock, Texas, Johnny Langehennig of Odessa, Texas, Paul David Langehennig of Brownfield, Texas, and Robert Gaines Langehennig of Lubbock, Texas; sisters, Dena Mae Gardner of Seagraves, Texas, Martha Bea Gooding of Magnolia, Texas, Glyda Faye Floyd of Seagraves, Texas, and Mary Erin Sines of Traverse City, Michigan; six grandchildren; Cara Minks and husband Sam, Cassie Teeter, DaNae Vasquez, Michelle Perez and husband Raul, Aaron Barber, and Kallen Barber; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Denney, Hunter Minks, Macee Teeter, Kael Teeter, Brielle Teeter, Sabrina Urias and husband Eric, NiCeé Vasquez, Kyzer Vasquez, Damion Chavez, Jayde Chavez, and Canaan Chavez, and Tyce Perez: and great-great-grandchildren, Ayven Sanchez, Reiah Sanchez, Nyah Sanchez, Naomi and Rylee Chavez, Zayla Chavez, Rozlynn Urias, and Royce Urias.
Alma Lee is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pastor Kenneth Lampp in 2005; and siblings, Douglas Henry Langehennig, Alex O’Dell Langehennig, Thomas Bruce Langehennig, and JoAnna Langehennig.
Funeral service will be Friday, October 9, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Grant County Civic Center Walker Auditorium in Ulysses, Kansas, with Bishop Eric D. Reynolds of Wilmington, Delaware, officiating. Interment will follow at Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses. The service may also be viewed on Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Live. Visitation will be Thursday, October 8, 2020, from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas.
