Alice Marguerete Reid

Alice Marguerete Reid, age 96, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Brookdale Liberal Springs in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on July 29, 1924, the daughter of John and Ida (Leibundgut)Engel in Duncan, Nebraska.

Alice grew up on a farm two miles west of Duncan and graduated from Duncan High School in 1942. On August 26, 1950, she married Dr. Harold C. Reid, DDS in Aurora, Colorado. Doctor Reid preceded her in death on March 11, 2011, after 60 years of marriage. Alice worked many years for New York Life, while her husband pursued his dental degree in Kansas City, Missouri, after Harold graduated from dental school, the couple moved to Liberal, Kansas. Alice was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star, and Southwest Medical Center Auxiliary. She will be forever remembered in our hearts.

Alice is survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Four brothers; Roland, Werner, John Jr., and Herbert, and

Two sisters; Lucille and Marcelle.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 14, 2021at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas

A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Street Liberal, Kansas Pastor Rex Petty presiding

Graveside services will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.

Memorial donations suggested to Faith Tabernacle, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Billy Graham Evangelistic Association in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home.
