Alfred Laverne Harper

Alfred Laverne Harper, age 85, died Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal. He was born March 18, 1932 in Stevens County, Kansas, the son of Thomas Alfred and Linnie Letha (Hawk) Harper.
Alfred graduated from Hugoton High School in 1950. On November 12, 1952, he married Dorothy Mozelle Rawlins in Hugoton, Kansas.

Alfred was born in the Woods community, where he remained his entire life, as a third-generation farmer.

He enjoyed reading, snowmobiling, coyote hunting, driving his big green machines and time spent with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Linnie Harper, sister Helen Harper Higgins and brother Tommy Harper.

Survivors include:
His wife Dorothy, of 65 years this November 12th.

23 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives.

Memorial service will be Monday, September 25, at 3:00pm, at Lone Star Friends Church, with Gary Damerson and Lee Rottman presiding. Private family interment will be held.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 24, at Brenneman Funeral Home from 12 to 8 pm. Family will be present to greet friends from 2-4 pm.
