Albert Blackwelder
Joe Denoyer - June 9, 2021 9:12 pm
Albert Blackwelder was born September 2, 1949, son of Lawrence and Ulah Mae, brother of Bruce and Gail, went to school in Hooker, Missouri Military Academy, and college in Kentucky. He loved hunting and fishing and began building race cars to compete at local tracks.
At a Baptist church camp, south of Oklahoma City, he met Carolyn Grice from Guymon whom he married, and the couple had four children: Bettina, Bart, Ben, and Jacob, 19 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Albert farmed with his dad west of Hooker and worked as a mechanic. Albert was a reluctant church go-er through much of his life but grew into a closer walk with the Lord in later years. His persistent question to his doctors, nurses, technicians, family and to you was, “Do you love Jesus? What are you gonna do about it?”
Albert went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 3, 2021.
The family will greet friends at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, June 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A celebration of Albert’s life will be conducted Thursday morning, June 10th at 10:30 a.m. at the Hooker First Baptist Church with Bro.
