Jesus Quintanilla, age 97, died on Sunday, March 16, 2025, in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born on January 2, 1928, in Rancho Mesas de Acosta, Juventino Rosas, Guanjuato, Mexico, to Filipe Quintanilla and Apolonia Yańez.

Jesus was united in marriage to Guadalupe Gonzalez, she preceded him in death in May of 1990. He exemplified the value of hard work as he worked in agriculture as a field hand. He was much loved and will be missed by his family, grandchildren, and all that knew him.

He is survived by his four sons, Felipe Quintanilla,

Antonio Quintanilla,

Raul Quintanilla,

Sotero Quintanilla,

Four daughters, Apolonia Medina,

Cruz Quintanilla,

Mari Quintanilla,

Pompeya Quintanilla, and

Many grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe Gonzalez,

Four sons,

Francisco Quintanilla,

Remedios Quintanilla,

Tite Quintanilla,

Manuel Quintanilla, and

Daughter, Alicia Montańo.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hiram Gutierrez presiding.

Interment will follow at the Liberal Cemetery.
