David A.Vartian

David A.Vartian, 76, of Liberal, passed away on Tuesday December 10, 2024 at his home.

He was born on November 24, 1948 to George and Varsenig (Antreassian) Vartian at Flushing Queens, NY.

On October 18, 1980 David married Anna Brasca at Ozone Park Queens, NY; she survives.

David received his Bachelor’s Degree through Queens College in Queens, NY. He worked for many years as a Court Clerk in Brooklyn, NY Night Court. David was a New York Mets fan; in his younger days he sold Roasted Peanuts at Shea Stadium during their games. As a child he spent many summers up in the Catskill Mountains, Hunter, NY where around the age of five he raised a pet Chicken that he named Gigalee.

He enjoyed New York style Pizza with his favorite being from Gloria’s in Flushing, NY. David also enjoyed watching and playing Tennis. David’s hobbies included photography and collecting coins.

In 1987 David and Anna moved to Liberal where he owned and worked with his Window Washing business.He was devoted in his faith as a Jehovah’s Witness and was an Elder at the Kingdom Hall. David was also recognized through the congregation as a Pioneer for the amount of time that he devoted to sharing his faith throughout the community.

David had a loud, knee slapping laugh and a keen sense of humor that will be missed by all that loved him.

David is survived by his loving wife Anna; Three Children, Gene Menachio and wife Sarita of Tulsa, OK, Corrie Trujillo and husband Joe Frank of Garden City, KS, Jonathan Vartian of Garden City, KS;Sister, Harriet Cefalu and husband Sal of New City, NY; Two Grandchildren, and One Great Grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Brother, Alan Vartian, and Two Nephews, Louis & Alex Cefalu.

Per David’s request, there will be no viewing and cremation has taken place.
