Liberal, Kansas – Noemi Tudon helped lead the Seward County Lady Saints softball team to their best season since 2018 and after wrapping up her career in Liberal, she will be heading to Forest City Iowa to continue her athletic and academic career after signing with Waldorf University to join the Warriors in the 2025 season.

As a sophomore, Tudon grew her game tremendously as she connected on 32 hits and scored 38 runs for the Lady Saints. Her swing kept improving throughout the course of the season as she slammed out 10 doubles, a triple, and her first two career homers which came against Colby and Barton on the road in a pair of key conference wins. Tudon also improved her ability to help her teammates score as she went from 6 RBIs as a freshman to 20 as a sophomore and used her speed to race around the bases for 20 stolen bags on the 2024 campaign. She was smart at the plate with a keen eye for the ball as she found her way to first base on a walk 26 times on the year which ranks top ten in a single season while also growing her on base percentage to .413. Over the past two years at Seward County, Tudon connected on 57 hits and scored 67 runs while also recording 26 RBIs, 25 stolen bases, 16 doubles, 2 triples, and 2 home runs. Her 47 career walks puts her fourth all-time in Lady Saints softball history while putting her on base percentage at .381 through 96 appearances for Seward County.

“Noemi was a great leader on and off the field this year. She brought the energy every day to the field; she was always working hard on and off the field” said Head Coach Kristen Silva.” She would always take extra reps and working hard in the weight room. Her determination on the field and in the classroom is something we strive for all our students’ athletes. Waldorf University is getting a great young lady that will go all out in the outfield for her team!! I am excited to watch Noemi achieve her goals academically and athletically. We wish her well and look to forward to watching her play at Waldorf University.”

Tudon will be joining a Warriors team that she will have to help rebuild as well after Waldorf went 10-29 overall in the 2024 season while going 8-15 in conference action. The Warriors were able to find a little momentum late in the season as they won five of their final seven games of the regular season including a sweep over Viterbo at home in late April before falling in the postseason to Valley City State.

After leading the Lady Saints to a 26-23 overall record this past season, Tudon is now the second Seward County softball player to sign on to the four year level as she joins Aaliyah Gutierrez (Northwestern Oklahoma State University) as they continue their collegiate careers on the field.
