Beginning the 2009-2010 school year, immunization requirements for students attending Kansas public schools will be changing. The NEW vaccine requirements are as follows:
o One dose of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine for all 1st through 9th graders unless history of disease documented by licensed physician.
o Two doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine for all Preschool and Kindergarten students unless history of disease documented by licensed physician.
o Three doses of Hepatitis B for all students Preschool through 9th grade.
o One booster dose of Tdap for students 11 years of age if it has been more than 2 years since the previous dose of DTaP/DT/Td.
o Three doses of Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine for all Preschool students.
o Four doses of pneumococcal conjugate (PCV7) vaccine for all Preschool students.
o Two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine for all Preschool students.
In addition, beginning the 2010-2011 school year, ALL students attending Kansas public schools will be required to have 3 doses of Hepatitis B and 2 doses of varicella (unless history of chickenpox disease documented by licensed physician).
