Mustangs Hope this is the Year
KSCB News - August 23, 2013 7:24 am
They hope this is the year at Southwestern Heights where the Mustangs have eight starters back on both sides of the ball for fourth year head coach Matt Scripsick. There are 39 out for football at the 3A school and the seniors were freshmen when Scripsick came from Ashland.
But the Mustangs have their work cut out for them. They are 4-23 the past three years after going 1-8 last year. SWH is using a new scheme on defense going to a 4-3 and they have two new assistant coaches as Lane Abert comes in from Fort Hays State and Paul Grilliot comes to Heights from rival Lakin.
Key Mustangs include: Sr. FB/LB Saul Sanchez, Sr. G/DT Alexis Loya, Sr. G/DT Saudy Rodriguez, Sr. DT Peter Klasson, Sr. CB Jorge Alverado, and So. QB Emilio Bernabe.
