Mounsey Shoots Lady Saints Past Allen

Seward’s all  time leading three-point shooter got back to her lights out ways Saturday. Mollie Mounsey sank 7-10 three pointers and scored 25 points as the #8 Seward Lady Saints beat Allen 86-46 Saturday afternoon at Allen Gymnasium in Iola.

He Lady Saints led 48-20 at halftime. Seward harassed the Lady Red Devils into 31 percent shooting and 29 turnovers. Allen was 1-11 from three.  Seward shot 42 percent from the field and made 17-41 three pointers.

Mounsey’s 25 marked her 10th time his season to score 20 or more points. Lexi Hernandez poured in 14 and was 4-7 from beyond the arc. Kalen Green had 20.

Seward has won 16 straight and is 23-2 overall and 19-2 in the Jayhawk. Allen is 6-19 and 4-17 in the Jayhawk. Seward wins their 12th straight over Allen. The Lady Saints host Neosho Wednesday night at 6 with Saints Shoot-around at 5:45 on 107.5 and kscbnews.net. Wendy’s is the game sponsor.
