Morrow Scores 41 in Win Over Cloud

Sierra Morrow tied for the second most points in a game in Seward history Friday afternoon. Seward beat Cloud 101-86 Friday afternoon in a rare Friday afternoon game in the Green House. Morrow had 41 points and 11 rebounds on 13-24 shooting.
Seward led 14-6 and 16-8 in the first quarter and led 23-17 after one quarter. Seward led by as many as 12 in the second quarter at 49-37 and 51-39. Seward led 51-43 at the half. SCCC led 76-62 after three and led by as many as 22 on the way to the win.
Morrow’s 41 points ties Rachel Barnes who had 41 in a Region 6 title game in 2010. The total passes her own career high of 39 against Hutchinson on March 8 which tied Jamie Talbert for fourth. Her 41 passed Mollie Mounsey’s 40. Daniela Galindo scored 50 in a game for the record.
Sierra Lynch added 18 points. Seward shot 41 percent from the field and Cloud shot 46 percent but Seward forced the Lady T-Birds into 29 turnovers.
Seward has won 12 of the last 13 against Cloud and nine straight. Seward is 12-4 and in second in the Jayhawk West. They play first place Hutchinson Saturday afternoon at 4:30 with Saints Shootaround at 4:15 on 107.5 and kscbnews.net.
