Middle School Results

Brock Kappelmann - January 29, 2021 11:56 am

This past week the Eisenhower boys 8th game team played two games losing both of them. Monday, in an exhibition game against Seymour Rogers, the Warriors fell 30-26.  After giving up the games first seven points to the Apache’s, the Warriors settled in and worked their way back. After three quarters, the Warriors trailed by two. The Apache’s played tougher in the fourth and that was the difference.

Richard Forbes led with 9 points, Alfonso Relles added 8 pts, Anthony Aragonez 5 points and Marco Alonso 4 pts.
A Thursday night contest at Guymon saw similar results.  The Warriors played well in the first half only to force shots and play passively in the second half.  We need to learn how to play four quarters. The last two games we’ve simply been outplayed.    Scoring in the game included Richard Forbes 9 points, Landon Martinez 8 points and Alfonso Relles 3 points.
The Warriors go back to Conference place Saturday at Seymour Rogers with Hays and Great Bend in town.

Here is another article for the first ever Girls Wrestling meet last Friday –

The SRMS Girl’s Wrestling team had their first ever competition on Friday, January 21, at Hays  Middle School. Six wrestlers were eligible for the first meet. Evelyn Rivas won the first match ever by a SRMS Girl’s Wrestling team member, and went on to record three wins in the meet. Amila Alarcon also had a big night with 3 wins and 2 by pin. The girl’s went 10 and 8 and recorded 6 pins total. Not a bad outing for the smallest group to wrestle among the conference schools present. The rest of the lineups totals are as follows; Daira Ontiveros – 1 and 2 with a pin, Keirsie Carlile – 2 and 1, all by decisions, Jovanna Raigoza – 1 and 2 with a pin, and Karley Peralta – 0 and 3 in some extremely tough matches. The Girl’s Wrestling team will be in action again on Saturday, February 6, at Dodge City. The meet will start at 10 AM. If you weren’t able to attend the Hays meet and won’t be able to see us at Dodge City, but would like to watch our team wrestle, please consult YouTube scheduling and watch for free. If you’re not sure how to do that, give us a call at the school and we will be glad to tell you how.
