HASKELL COUNTY – The Haskell County Sheriff’s Office requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue an endangered persons advisory for a missing woman and her two daughters from Haskell County. The whereabouts of 23-year-old Martha Unger, and her daughters Madilynn Grace Unger, 2, and Haylie Faith Unger, 1, are unknown, and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate them. On Sept. 15, 2020, The Seymour Rogers Middle School Cross Country team traveled to Hays, Kansas to compete with teams in WAC and some teams from Western Kansas.
The course at Hays, Kansas, was difficult due to hilly terrain. Our team of 7th grade girls consisted of Alexa Macias finished her 1 mile race with a time of 13:20.
For the 7th grade boys, Joshua Talley ran a time of 9:57 with a great sprint at the end. Zahir Ortiz placed highest for the Apaches. Zahir Ortiz placed 14th out of 43 runners. Mr. Ortiz ran a 7:15 mile which was a PR knocking 20 seconds off his previous time.
The 8th grade girls were represented by Ariana Cerda. Ariana placed 22nd in a field of 46. Miss Cerda ran a 2 mile race in 17:16. She will be looking for a PR next week.
The 8th grade boys were represented by Enrique Morales at 22nd place, 14:42.
