The Seymour Rogers 7th Grade Basketball A-Team had two matchups this weekend.

In the first game against Great Bend, the Apaches took an early lead, outscoring the Panthers 11-9 in the first half. The team played with great energy, heart, and determination, excelling in both offense and defense and keeping the game close throughout. Unfortunately, the Panthers managed to edge out a win, with a final score of 21-19.

In the second game against Hays, the Apaches once again came out with strong energy and determination, showing solid offensive and defensive plays. In the final quarter, the Apaches implemented a full-court press, creating more scoring opportunities against the Falcons. Despite their effort and resilience, time ran out, and the Falcons secured the win with a final score of 51-31.

The 8th grade Apaches A team took on Dodge City Middle School last night. The Apaches fought hard and won the game 33-28. The Apaches were led by Darion Denton with 15 points 6 rebounds and 3 steals. There were two other major contributors for the Apaches with 9 points 6 rebounds and 2 assists from Francisco Cardenas and 7 points and 2 steals from Xaadin Navarro. The Apaches will look to ride the momentum of the win this Saturday against Great Bend and Hays.

The Seymour Rogers 7th Grade Basketball A-team kicked off their season with an impressive game against DCMS. The Apaches brought great energy, showcasing strong offense and defense throughout the game. They applied consistent pressure on the Cardinals at the start of each quarter, creating more scoring opportunities.

The scoring was opened by Kaden Olvera with a two-point shot, followed by Aiden Aragon and Brandon Maldonado, who each added two points. The Apaches relied on teamwork to maintain their scoring momentum. In the fourth quarter, Devonte Denton contributed another two points.

The entire team played with determination, resulting in a final score of 33-19, securing a well-earned victory for the Apaches.
